Norbert A. “ Norb” Koester, age 98, of Hamburg, NY, passed away on Thursday afternoon, June 6, 2024 at Fr. Baker Manor in Orchard Park, NY. Loving husband of 76 years of the late Verna T. (nee Wittmeyer) Koester; beloved father of Carlton (Susan) and Kenneth (Kathy) Koester, Marlene (Donald) Becker, Daniel Koester, and Linda (James) Coniglio; cherished grandfather of Dr. Darleen (Hank) Barnard, Jason (Stephanie) and the late Nicole (Eric Redpath) Becker, Melissa (Alan) Koester-Anderson, Kimberly Coniglio and Amanda (Kyle) Weeks; also survived by eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aloysius and Mary (nee Smith) Koester, two sisters, Mary Hottum and Ruth Koester, a brother, Harold (late MaryJane) Koester. All are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at SS. Peter & Paul RC Church, 66 E. Main St., Hamburg, on Thursday, June 13, at 10:30 AM. Please assemble at the church. Interment will follow in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorial contributions in Norbert’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice. Norbert worked as a sales representative for the former Buffalo Electric and Westinghouse Electric Supply Co retiring in 1988. He was a proud patriot servicing his country in the U.S. Marines during WWII in Japan. He was an active member of Saints Peter and Paul parish. He served his community as a Boy Scout Troop Leader, Troop 400, volunteer fire fighter for the North Boston Fire Co., van driver for Boston Senior Services and was a member of the VFW.
