Mangione-Stephen S. “Steve"

Steve S. Mangione, 79, of Hamburg, NY, passed away unexpectedly on July 31, 2023. Beloved and devoted husband for 54 years of Marcia (nee Kaiser) Mangione; cherished father of Christian and Anne (Mark Nosowicz) Mangione. He is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Josephine (nee Manganello) Mangione. Steve served in the U.S. Army from 1964-1970. He studied photography at Rochester Institute of Technology and continued his studies at Buffalo State University earning a Masters in Science in Education. Steve was employed by Buffalo State University as their campus photographer in instructional resources retiring in 2005. He won the Buffalo State Chancellor’s award in 2000, he also was the chief photographer for “Buffalo Architecture: A Guide”. His memberships included SS. Peter & Paul RC where he photographed the remodel in 1988, University Association of American Photographers and the Studebaker Club. In 1985, Steve coached his son's soccer team. Steve was also passionate about Studebakers having purchased a vintage 1942 model. It took him 31 years to restore it completely. He showed it at many "Classic Car Shows" and won numerous awards and accolades. Friends may call at the Donald M. Demmerley Funeral  Home, 21 Pierce Ave. on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter & Paul Church, 66 E. Main St. Hamburg on Friday at 10 AM. Please assemble at the church.
