79 of Colden, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023 with his loving wife of 25 years, Lois (nee Nowocin) Sampson, by his side. John is survived by his three dear children, Ronald (Billie Jean) Sampson, Deborah (Brett) Hamann, and Barbara (Robert) Cole; cherished grandchildren Katelin and Kassidy Hamann, Rebecca, Matt, and Michelle Sampson, Jessica, Julie and Jennifer Cole; his dear great-grandchildren Cayden, Aubree, Payton and Rylie; and loving siblings James (late Florence) Sampson and Jeanne (Steve) Fagan along with many nieces and nephews. John is predeceased by his parents John F. and Janet (nee Mitchell) Sampson, Jr.  John proudly served his country during the Vietnam Conflict and was part of the Flying Knights of Hamburg. Visitation will be held at the Donald M. Demmerley Funeral Home located at 21 Pierce Ave. in Hamburg, on Tues. August 1st from 4-8 pm and 10-12 on Wed., followed by a funeral service.
