Of Boston, NY, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family at his side. Beloved husband of 59

yrs to his “Sweet Pea” Gail (nee James) Maurer; loving father of Marcie (late Dean) Martin, John (Traci)

and Michael (Dorothy) Maurer; cherished grandfather of Elizabeth (Richard) Ingoldsby, Christie Jo

(David) Weinborg, Brendan Maurer, Elliott (Meghan) Martin, Madeline Maurer and Michael Maurer; and

his great-grandchildren; brother-in-law of Susan (Arthur) Wile; also survived by nieces and nephews. He

was predeceased by his parents, John and Antoinette (nee Wessel) Maurer and siblings, Diane and Keith

Maurer. John was a 1958 graduate of Tonawanda High School he continued his education at the

University of Buffalo receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Math and a Master’s Degree in Industrial

Engineering. He founded and operated Sotek Inc / Belrix Industries. John loved to golf and was a

member of Springville Country Club where he was past president and board member for several years.

He enjoyed tinkering in his fish pond and around his yard. He always looked forward to traveling and

spending time with his family at his winter home in Savannah, GA. Friends may call at the Donald M.

Demmerley Funeral Home, 21 Pierce Ave. Hamburg, NY on Monday from 4-7PM. A funeral service will

be held on Tuesday at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4536 S. Buffalo St, Orchard Park, NY at 11

AM. The family suggests memorial contributions in John’s memory to the PKD Foundation, pkdcure.org.
