Obituary of Shirley Ann Duggan

Duggan, Shirley A. of Hamburg, age 90, passed peacefully surrounded by family in her daughter’s home in Matthews, NC on Friday, June 24. She was the devoted wife of Raymond J (deceased 2015). Shirley was a loving mother who was survived by 10 children: Carla Polechetti, Brian (Mindy), Marianne Bamrick, Timothy (Claire Amerman), Tracy (Peter) Cromwell, Jennifer (James) Crawford, Kevin (Jennifer Sikes), Angela (Kurt) Haller, Anthony (Sheila) and Christopher (Tami) Duggan. She was born in Bradford, PA to Gaetano & Liberata Pace. She was the last surviving sister to Frances (Cannon), Norma (Bunce), Vivian (Bottorf), Laura (Florentine), and Christina (Rounsville).  She was a doting grandmother to 39 grandchildren and a great-grandmother to 11 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Duggan was a retired RN at Mercy Hospital, in South Buffalo. For decades, Shirley has been remembered as the proud hostess of countless, boisterous and happy “Pasta Sundays” with family and friends in their home in the Village of Hamburg.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 8th from 5-9 PM at the DONALD M. DEMMERLEY FUNERAL HOME located at 21 Pierce Ave. in Hamburg.  A Mass of Christian Burial at SS. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, 66 East Main Street, Hamburg is on Saturday, July 9th at 10:30am.  Live stream of the service is available at https://sspphamburg.org/live-stream/. Shirley's interment will immediately follow at SS Peter & Paul Cemetery located at 1 Veit Rd. in Hamburg.
