Obituary of Doris L. Lander

Lander, Doris L. (nee Bryant), age 88 of Hamburg, New York, April 19, 2021. Wife of the late Richard C. Lander. Mother of Eric and Michael (Holly) Lander and Stacey Lee. Grandmother of Sydney and Max Lee and Emily and Jonathon Lander. Sister of the late Gladys Plante and the late Walter Bryant. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Doris was ahead of her time. She grew up in the small town of Springwater, NY with an adventurous spirit. Shortly after graduating from Wayland High School she moved to Brooklyn, NY where she worked at New York Presbyterian Hospital. She then set her sights on a months long solo bike tour of Europe, an experience of a lifetime. Back in the U.S. she moved to Miami, FL where she enjoyed the beach, ocean and travel to the Caribbean. Her most memorable trip was to Cuba, In retirement, she continued to enjoy travel with her sister Gladys and niece Barbara Plante. Doris was very artistic. She loved to paint and later became a skilled wood carver. Professionally, she earned Associates Degrees from Rochester Business Institute and ECC.
