Obituary of Gertrude R. Gildea

Gildea, Gertrude R. (nee Welsted), age 88, of Hamburg, October 13, 2014. Predeceased by her husband of 58 years, James C. Welsted. Mother of James E. (Annette) Gildea, Mary Starr and the late Ellen (Jeff) Toense. Sister of Sally (late Donald) Booth, Howard and Gerald (late Annetta) Welsted. Also survived by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral from the Donald M. Demmerley Funeral Home, Inc., 21 Pierce Avenue, Hamburg, Thursday morning at 9:30 and from SS Peter & Paul Church at 10:00. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Visiting hours Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Memorials may be made to SS Peter & Paul Church, 66 E. Main St., Hamburg. Mrs. Gildea, a lifelong Hamburg resident, was a waitress at the former Biehler's Tea Room, telephone operator for NY Telephone and school bus driver for Fisher Bus Service.
